Lessons

Our lesson program is designed to teach the student at their own pace.  We know
that everyone is an individual, so we adapt our instruction to the student.  We often
are asked " how long does it take to learn to ride?"  That depends entirely upon the
student- there are people that have a natural aptitude and there are others that have
to work a little harder to get the desired results.  We strive to help each student reach
their goals and have fun at the same time!  We typically start children at the age of 8,
which enables them to learn to use their coordination and balance skills. We have also
had beginners in their 60's learn to ride.

Boarding

At the present, we are able to offer private 35' pens, until the new barn is built.
The barn is scheduled to begin construction in spring of 2008.   Horses kept in these
pens will receive two feedings of hay and grain per day

Horse training

We start young horses using the best of the "new age" and the old "tried and true"
to gain the trust and respect of our four-legged students. No horses are "broken"
here.  All young horses are started in snaffle bits to preserve a soft and responsive
mouth.  They are taught ground manners with respect to their handlers, then they
move on to acceptance of tack and rider. We recommend 60 to 90 days of training for
young horses so that they may develop a solid foundation for more advanced training.
We also offer "tune-ups" for older horses that have become bored or sour in their
normal routine.
