Who we are...
Established in 2001, we came to the Alexandria area with the
intent of starting a boarding and training facility to cater to
anyone who wanted to learn how to ride- no matter what the
age. We are always happy to speak with new horse owners
about any questions or concerns they may have concerning the
health and well being of their new horse. Our resident trainer

and owner
is originally from Florida  where the competition level
is stiff and unforgiving.  Many olympic and Grand Prix riders
winter in the sunshine state to keep their competitive edge.   We
have
30 plus years of experience in the equine industry, ranging
from general care, feeding and nutrition, training
in both English
and western disciplines
, proper care of young stock, breeding,
showing, proper operation and maintenance of the facility,
saddle, tack and equipment fitting and use, and of course, riding.

We have found that often times potential new horse owners
will buy a horse on impulse without doing some research into the
care and handling of a horse first- we strongly advise against
this.  We recommend that anyone considering buying a horse
should take lessons first.  Most are unaware of the commitment
involved in horse ownership which can result in disappointment
at the least and injury at the worst which, either way results in an
unpleasant experience.  Lessons allow the potential horse
owner to experience horse handling and ownership
responsibilities with out the costs associated with the upkeep of
the animal which will better prepare them for horse ownership-
should they decide to go that route.   We believe that riding and
horse ownership can be a fun and rewarding experience for the
whole family if safety and common sense are first and foremost.
At Magnolia Meadows Farm, we strive to educate anyone one
willing to learn- no matter what your age or level of experience.
We are professional, but maintain a relaxed atmosphere that is
comfortable for both horse and rider.
